Day 2

I learnt how the Automatic Waste Sorting Machine (AWS) works. It filters waste material by metals, glass, plastic and aluminium. A magnet is used to attract all metals and separate them from the waste after the waste flows through a tube. A counter balance under the magnet allow plastic and aluminium to go forward while glass bottles fall down due to their weight. After that, aluminium cans or sorted by a linear actuator that shakes the remaining waste material to allow only the aluminium cans to fall through but not the plastic bottles. The plastic bottles then fall down at the end of the machine.

I also got to know what the other groups did for their project and their thinking and designing process.
